We’d anticipated getting our first significant Christmas Day snow ever, but as it turned out the storm was late arriving and we didn’t get any accumulation until after midnight, so technically we didn’t get a real White Christmas.
Only downside is that my son had to begin a grueling drive from Raleigh back to Orlando earlier today. And my other son has to get into work at the hardware store early tomorrow.
If the Floridian gets to the South Carolina line on I-95, he should have clear sailing from there. He just needs to be very careful for the first 100 miles or so. The DOT has done a pretty good job on the major highways. Just getting out of our cul-de-sac may have been his biggest challenge.
Meanwhile, my helpful hardware man should have no problem in his Honda CR-V with the all-wheel drive.
After all … it’s the “Day-After-Christmas” and the news just reported that the malls would be open at 11 am this morning, so I guess that’s a sign that all is normal with the world. Shoppers will not be negatively influenced by any winter weather advisories …
Me??? I’m off until January 3rd!
