On our best days, we will experience the serenity of waking in the morning as the scent of the salt air blends with the intoxicating aroma of our coffee brewing.
We’ll watch the sun as it slowly rises over the soothing rhythm of the waves lapping on the shore.
Strutting gulls and pelicans gliding in perfect formation will join us on our leisurely walks along the beach.
… and we will know that life can be very good.
Perhaps on other days, we will rise to darkened skies, howling wind and rushing tide and we will stare out in awe of the crashing surf as the approaching storm threatens our home and perhaps, our very existence.
And as we brace ourselves against the gale, we will appreciate that life can also be extremely fragile.
We will live next to the sea because that is where we feel closest to each other and to God.
With His blessing, someday, we will live next to the sea.
